Job summary

Carrington West is looking for an experienced Highway Engineer in Hampshire on a 6‑month contract. The role centers on delivering highway and civil engineering projects within published programmes and budgets, with a focus on quality and timely delivery.

The Senior Engineer will prepare design and contract documents, coordinate with planning and legal professionals, and review work from the design team and external consultants to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

• Preparing or assisting in the preparation of technical design and contract documents to ensure the implementation of highway and civil engineering projects and improvements within published programmes and budgets.
• Assisting with the collection, assessment and imparting of information essential to a successful scheme preparation and implementation process, including liaison with individuals, organisations, planning and legal professionals, contractors and developers external to the client.
• Checking design work produced by the design team, junior members of staff, external consultants or developers, including work undertaken as part of Section 38 and Section 278 agreements.
• Liaising with relevant bodies, including contractors, public utilities and other stakeholders, regarding highway project design and programming as required.
