Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work as a Clinical Team Leader in the Adult Community Service across Conwy and Denbighshire.

There are opportunities to work as a Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist within the Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy Team and/or to be the Operational Line Manager for the team.

The role will involve the following sessions:

  • Team Leader (2 sessions per week)
  • Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist (8 sessions per week)

The Team Leader will be responsible for operational line management, including support, supervision, service development, and recruitment. The clinical aspect involves managing a highly specialist caseload and identifying service development opportunities.

The adult community service provides assessment and treatment for patients with conditions such as Parkinson's Disease, dementia, stroke, and MND across domiciliary, outpatient, and community hospital settings. The team also offers training to nurses and carers and contributes to MDT clinics.

Main duties include:

  • Line managing SLTs and supporting service development
  • Using coaching skills to enhance team performance
  • Collaborating with clinical leads for service integration
  • Providing leadership for equitable and accessible services
  • Managing complex cases and responding to service pressures
  • Supervising and supporting colleagues and other professionals

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally encouraged to apply.
