Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist looking to specialise further or a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with interest in Neuropsychiatry to join our team at Cygnet Brunel.
Cygnet Brunel is a 32-bed Neuropsychiatric service, offering neuropsychiatric rehabilitation for individuals with complex acquired brain injury and mental health needs. The hospital is a modern facility designed to provide a clinically led, evidence-based neuropsychiatric pathway for individuals presenting with behaviours that challenge.
Our focus is to create a therapeutically rich environment that engages our service users, aiming to minimise challenging behaviour and maximise independence.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check; employment is contingent on successful clearance.

Job Role
As an SLT, you will work directly with a specialist caseload of patients with complex needs to assess their speech, communication, and language needs (SCLN) across all environments. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on-site and support staff across the hospital to implement therapeutic and neuropsychiatric approaches, showing an interest in upskilling the workforce. You will operate within the SLT pathway for neuropsychiatric/neurodegenerative services and contribute to a small on-site SLT team. Your responsibilities include providing quality assessments, interventions, and demonstrating skills in both SCLN and dysphagia. You will be part of a company-wide SLT service and contribute to service improvements.
