This role involves implementing innovative strategies and providing tailored support to meet the complex needs of children facing challenges in mainstream education. Specialists will work collaboratively within a tiered model, ensuring that every child receives the appropriate level of intervention, whether through universal, group, or individual support. If you are passionate about making a difference in children's lives and thrive in a dynamic environment, this opportunity is perfect for you.
The taskforce will comprise specialists in the following areas: speech and language, family support, mental health/therapy, and youth work.
Through a test-and-learn approach, practice will develop. Specialists on the team will be required to be proactive and creative to achieve outcomes for children.
The APST will be implemented across GHES and The Altus School, focusing on key stage 2 and 3 children (7-14 years old).
The model is based on a tiered approach:
Specialist work will be conducted across GHES and Altus sites, as well as from local community bases and family homes when appropriate.
The children will access alternative education provision under Section 19 of the Education Act 1996, through GHES or Altus, due to reasons such as exclusion, illness, or other circumstances preventing attendance at mainstream schools.
