We seek an enthusiastic Senior Pharmacist with leadership skills to join the Critical Care team and lead the trust formulary.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, experienced, with strong teaching and clinical skills, and possess good interpersonal, leadership, and managerial skills. A postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent and hospital pharmacy experience in critical care are required.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage and develop the pharmacy critical care service, working alongside the MDT.
  • Maintain the web-based hospital formulary with the Lead Pharmacist for Medicines information.
  • Provide critical care training to clinical staff.
  • Act as a trainee pharmacist tutor/diploma mentor as needed.
  • Contribute to pharmacy information bulletins.
  • Ensure high-quality drug use, risk management, patient safety, and adherence to policies in critical care.
  • Manage drug budget and lead clinical pharmacy services in critical care.
  • Provide ward pharmacy services, contribute to service development, training, and policy implementation.
  • Support other pharmacy services as needed.
  • Lead or contribute to research and audit projects, publishing results where appropriate.
