Job summary

Teaching Personnel is hiring an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support students aged 11–16 in a Walsall area school. The role involves delivering targeted 1:1 and small group interventions, classroom support, and collaboration with teachers and SEND staff to raise attainment.

You will work 32.5 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, with a permanent, full-time contract and a salary of £24,600–£27,400 per annum. Commitment to safeguarding and DBS checks required.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience.
  • GCSEs in Maths, English and Science (Grade C/4 or above).
  • Experience supporting children or young people, particularly SEND.
  • Patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with students.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Support students with a range of SEND, helping them access the curriculum.
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and independence.
  • Adapt support to meet the changing needs of students, including physical support where required.
