Job summary

The Role

As our HLTA, you will work collaboratively with teachers, leaders and support staff to enhance teaching and learning across the school. You will lead learning when required, support pupils to achieve their potential and contribute to the delivery of an engaging and inclusive curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Teaching and Learning
  • Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individuals, groups and whole classes.
  • Lead whole-class teaching as directed by leaders.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and disadvantaged pupils.
  • Support the delivery of a broad, balanced and creative curriculum.
  • Promote high expectations of learning, behaviour and achievement.
Supporting Pupils
  • Build positive relationships with children and act as a role model.
  • Provide targeted intervention programmes to accelerate pupil progress.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
Supporting Teachers and the School
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to plan and evaluate learning.
  • Contribute to assessment, record-keeping and reporting processes.
  • Support the organisation of educational visits, enrichment activities and school events.
  • Assist in maintaining an engaging and stimulating learning environment.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
