Job summary

Macintyre seeks a lead teaching assistant to support students with diverse backgrounds in our academy. The role focuses on nurturing individual learners, observing and listening, and developing a positive culture around learning.

You will deliver high standards of care, apply strategies to raise achievement, and work with children of varied ages and abilities. Comprehensive induction and ongoing training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Level 2 English and Maths required.
• Experience in ASC/SEMH/AP may be advantageous but not essential.
• Comprehensive induction and ongoing training and support will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Manage classes of around nine students and lead teaching assistants.
• Organise the classroom, maintain regular contact with parents and carers, arrange trips and visits.
• Monitor and review short-term targets and cover lessons in the absence of a teacher.

Job description

Our lead teaching assistants come from various backgrounds, for example, care homes, mainstream education and healthcare settings. ASC, SEMH or AP experience may be an advantage but is not essential. Our only requirement is Level 2 English and Maths. The role will require you to:
