Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 2 at a Gosforth school in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will lead learning, deliver interventions and assist with lesson coverage to ensure high-quality pupil engagement.

The role offers a daily rate of £120-£130, a full-time temporary contract with a pathway to permanency, and a dedicated consultant throughout your placement. Start date is September 2026.

Qualifications

• Qualified as an HLTA or hold an equivalent qualification.
• Experience in a primary school, ideally KS2.
• Confident leading whole-class learning and delivering interventions.
• Flexible, organised and proactive in supporting teaching and learning.
• Desire to help pupils reach their full potential.
• Willing to apply for an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons to whole classes during teacher release time.
• Lead small group and one-to-one interventions to accelerate pupil progress.

Are you an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We're working with a welcoming and supportive school in Gosforth to recruit a dedicated HLTA to support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic HLTA who enjoys leading learning, delivering interventions and occasionally covering whole classes. You'll work closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils receive engaging, high-quality learning experiences and are supported to reach their full potential.

About the Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you'll:

• Qualified as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or hold an equivalent qualification.
• Experienced working within a primary school, ideally in Key Stage 2.
• Confident leading whole-class learning and delivering interventions.
• Flexible, organised and proactive in supporting teaching and learning.
• Passionate about helping children achieve their full potential.
• Hold (or are willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
