Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Salford. The role is full-time and temporary, with pay of £550–£700 per week PAYE, depending on experience and qualifications, starting September 2026.

You will deliver pre-planned lessons across primary year groups, support pupils including those with SEND, and work with teachers and leaders to promote pupil progress and wellbeing in a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or have relevant experience in a similar role.
• Experience working within a primary school setting.
• Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons across the primary curriculum.
• Understanding of supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of primary year groups in the absence of the class teacher.
• Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, including those with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Help children develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.
• Work closely with class teachers, SEND staff, and school leaders to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Contribute to a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive.

Requirements

To be considered for this Higher Level Teaching Assistant position, you will:

• Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or have relevant experience in a similar role
• Have experience working within a primary school setting
• Be confident delivering pre-planned lessons across the primary curriculum
• Have a good understanding of supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
• Demonstrate strong communication, classroom management, and organisational skills
