Priory School in Lewes is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting students with Special Educational Needs. The role includes class coverage and dedicated support to individuals and groups within Behavioural Alternative Provision.
The position is part-time and term-time only, with a pro rata salary based on 39 weeks of work per year plus 6.05 weeks of annual leave. Hours are 30 per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:15 pm, with inset days.
The Governors wish to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work in the main school site experienced in working with students with Special Educational Needs. The post involves covering whole classes in the main school as well as providing dedicated support to individuals and groups of students in Behavioural Alternative Provision (Internal Exclusion). The balance between these duties will be judged based on the candidates' qualities, skills and ambitions.
An interest in education and the ability to deliver ideas and concepts to an audience of young people would be desirable.

As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata., The hours of work are 30 hours a week Monday to Friday 8.30 a.m. to 3.15 p.m. term time (plus inset days). The actual salary is £21,769 to £23,204 a year (39 working weeks, 45.05 paid weeks a year). Less working hours will be considered for the right applicant.
