Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism and SEMH needs. You’ll help learners develop skills, raise self-esteem and implement inclusive activities across classrooms.

You’ll work closely with teachers to tailor learning and provide consistent support. Ideal candidates will have HLTA or NVQ Level 3 qualifications, strong resilience, and a passion for making positive changes in young people’s lives.

Qualifications

• Significant experience supporting children, including those with SEND.
• Ability to plan, work with teachers, and support learning activities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.

Responsibilities

• Assist with class-based learning and individual support for pupils.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Liaise with teaching staff to develop complementary activities.

You’ll be working with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You’ll be there to help them learn, develop their abilities and raise their self-esteem. Key responsibilities

You’ll be more than a Teaching Assistant, you’ll be able to connect with our pupils because of:

• Significant experience as a Teaching assistant
• Your genuine passion for supporting children learn and the impact it can have on their lives
• Your enthusiasm and expertise to support your department
• Your ability to plan meetings, work without supervision and liaise with teachers to devise complementary learning activities.
• You’ll also need a relevant NVQ Level 3 and a HLTA qualification, or equivalent
