Higher Level Teaching Assistant needed for Primary School in Greenwich!

Career Teachers are seeking an experienced HLTA - Higher Level Teaching Assistant - for a role at a mainstream Primary School in Greenwich.

  • Flexible start date - ASAP or in September
  • Monday to Friday - Term time
  • Salary from (Apply online only) per day

You will be covering classes, during Teacher's PPA time, meeting time or other absences. You will be working with classes throughout the school from Early Years to Year 6. We are looking for someone motivated and proactive, with experience working with children of various abilities, including those with SEND and/or challenging behaviour.

As an HLTA,you will be responsible for teaching/assisting with teaching all national curriculum subjects, including Maths, English, Music, and Physical Education. You will plan curriculum-aligned lessons, create a safe and motivating classroom environment, monitor student progress, provide feedback, implement behaviour expectations, assess assignments and tests, and communicate with parents and school leaders.

Qualifications and Experience:

We seek passionate HLTAs with expertise in teaching methods, effective communication, and the ability to inspire students of all abilities. Candidates must be dedicated to creating ideal learning conditions, safeguarding children, and proficient in office software. Positive, outgoing, and compassionate traits are essential. You must have:

  • A relevant HLTA qualification or prior experience working as an HLTA,
  • Previous in-school teaching experience,
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written,
  • Right to work in the UK,
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
