Job summary

Teach Now in Barnet is recruiting for a full-time HLTA to start on 1 September 2026. The role covers leading learning as well as supporting it across KS1 and KS2 in a busy primary setting.

You will deliver planned activities, provide class cover, lead literacy and numeracy groups, support pupils with SEND and monitor progress, feeding observations back to teachers. The post offers a competitive daily rate of £100-£120 and the chance to develop leadership skills in a rewarding Barnet school.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or Level 4 qualification desirable.
• Experience leading literacy, numeracy and targeted intervention groups.
• Experience in primary education and SEND support.

Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who is confident leading learning as well as supporting it? Teach Now is recruiting for an exciting full-time primary opportunity in Barnet from September.

This Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety. You could be supporting targeted interventions in the morning, working alongside a class teacher to raise attainment and then confidently leading a class or group activity when required.

The role will include:

• Delivering planned learning activities across KS1 and KS2.

• Leading literacy, numeracy and targeted intervention groups.

An experienced primary practitioner already comfortable working at HLTA level. HLTA status, a Level 4 qualification or equivalent experience is highly desirable, alongside strong literacy, numeracy, communication and behaviour-management skills.
