Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking an Laboratory Support Worker to assist Biomedical Scientist staff across the Blood Sciences divisions. You will operate and maintain analysers, perform selective manual tests and provide bench support where needed.

The role requires full participation in a 24/7 shift rota to ensure continuous patient care and timely results. Training and development opportunities are available within a hospital known for research and innovation.

Job description

Under supervision and according to Standard Operative Procedures perform an extended range of technical support duties within the laboratory, rotating through all sections of Blood Sciences, predominantly supporting Biomedical Scientist staff within the team to facilitate optimal patient care.

Successful candidates will be expected to provide support to BMS staff by operating and maintaining analysers, perform some manual tests and providing support on benches.

The successful candidate will be expected to fully participate in the 24/7 shift rota.
