Job summary

Network Rail in the United Kingdom is seeking a Section Supervisor to assist the Section Manager in inspection, maintenance and renewal of assets. You will supervise work delivery, manage staff as directed, and help maintain safe, efficient operations in line with budgets and plans.

You will lead a team working with overhead line equipment, often at height, using specialist tools to measure, adjust, repair and modify cables and wires that keep Britain's railway running.

Qualifications

• Experience directing and supervising worksites and safely delivering work.
• Knowledge of resource and work planning processes and systems.
• Experience with overhead line equipment inspection, maintenance and renewal.
• Familiarity with relevant standards, procedures and instructions.
• Awareness of cost and waste control techniques.
• Able to demonstrate safe working behaviours and coach others.
• Hold or be working towards NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and check the quality of work with assets compliant to standards.
• Carry out work safely according to safe systems of work and instructions.
• Prepare work and resource specifications and method statements.
• Assist in allocating resources and monitoring staff performance and welfare.
• Contribute to asset renewals and maintenance plans.
