Job summary

Group 1 Automotive is recruiting for a High Voltage EV Technician in Ipswich to become a key specialist in BEV technologies. The role focuses on servicing, diagnostics and repairs to manufacturer standards, with dedicated HV safety procedures and cross-brand knowledge across VW Group brands.

The successful candidate will train through manufacturer programmes, develop HV expertise, and contribute to exceptional customer service and workshop efficiency.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience in High Voltage Technologies or willingness to undertake specialist training.
• Experience in the motor industry.

Responsibilities

• Train and develop as a High Voltage Expert (HVE).
• Carry out vehicle servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Provide expert technical guidance on BEV technologies.
• Become the workshop specialist for High Voltage and Electric Vehicle systems.
• Support and mentor colleagues through knowledge sharing and technical expertise.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with High Voltage safety procedures and policies.
• Maintain excellent product knowledge across multiple Volkswagen Group brands.
• Deliver exceptional customer service that encourages loyalty and repeat business.
• Maintain high standards of workshop housekeeping and administration.
• Work collaboratively with workshop controllers, service advisors and technicians to ensure customer satisfaction.
