Job summary

Group 1 Automotive is seeking a High Voltage Technician – Shenley PDI to specialise in Battery Electric Vehicle systems and provide expert diagnostics and maintenance to VW Group brands. The role includes industry-leading training, personal development, and a welcoming bonus structure.

You’ll train as a High Voltage Expert, support colleagues, and ensure safety standards are met while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining workshop excellence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Experience in the motor industry is desirable.
• Experience in High Voltage Technologies or willingness to undertake specialist training.
• VAG accreditation advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to work across multiple Volkswagen Group brands.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capable of working to deadlines and manufacturer standards.

Responsibilities

• Train and develop as a High Voltage Expert (HVE)
• Carry out vehicle servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards
• Provide expert technical guidance on Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) technologies
• Become the workshop specialist for High Voltage and Electric Vehicle systems
• Support and mentor colleagues through knowledge sharing and technical expertise
• Ensure all work is completed in line with High Voltage safety procedures and policies
• Maintain excellent product knowledge across multiple Volkswagen Group brands
• Deliver exceptional customer service that encourages loyalty and repeat business
• Maintain high standards of workshop housekeeping and administration
• Work collaboratively with workshop controllers, service advisors and technicians to ensure customer satisfaction
