Job summary

Ventus Energy is recruiting experienced High Voltage Control Engineers to join our Belfast HV Control Centre. You will operate HV networks up to 400 kV, monitor SCADA alarms and coordinate switching to ensure safe, reliable power delivery.

Reporting to the HVCC Manager, you will manage outages, isolate and earth equipment, maintain logs and handovers, and escalate incidents as required while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a High Voltage Control Engineer with HV networks up to 400 kV.
• Practical experience in HV switching coordination and outage management.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety rules and interface with site personnel.
• Ability to interpret single line diagrams, switching schedules and SCADA.
• Clear operational communication and ability to escalate concerns.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 shift rota in Belfast.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HV networks and assess alarms, coordinating timely response.
• Plan, review and coordinate switching, outages, fault response and restoration.
• Coordinate safety arrangements, isolation and earthing with SAPs and sites.
• Manage interfaces with other control centres and network operators.
• Maintain logs, status records and shift handovers for outages and actions.
• Support incident response, escalate where needed and coordinate personnel.
• Contribute to reviews, procedures and competence records.
