Teaching Personnel, in partnership with a high-achieving Blackburn secondary school, seeks an outstanding Head of Mathematics to start January 2027.

You will lead the Mathematics department across Key Stages 3 and 4, drive teaching excellence, monitor curriculum, and develop staff. This is a leadership role with a focus on improving outcomes and sustaining a culture of high expectations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a high-achieving and ambitious secondary school in Blackburn, Lancashire, to appoint an outstanding Head of Mathematics from January 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mathematics teacher and current middle leader, or an ambitious practitioner ready to take the next step in their leadership journey. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated department and play a key role in driving exceptional outcomes across the school.

The Role:

As Head of Mathematics, you will be responsible for leading and developing a successful department, ensuring outstanding teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will inspire both staff and students, promoting a culture of high expectations, academic excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership and direction for the Mathematics department.
  • Driving high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement.

  • Analysing student progress data and implementing effective intervention strategies.
