Job summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC) is seeking a Highly Specialist Podiatrist (Band 7) to join the High Risk team in Birmingham. The role is 22.5 hours per week and sits within our progressive community service.

You will use post-graduate Diabetes, Vascular and wound care expertise to deliver specialist podiatry in community and trust settings, with opportunities for teaching and multi-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate experience and training in Diabetes, Vascular and other High Risk conditions.
• Work within a team and autonomously acting as a resource of expertise.
• Excellent time management, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Highly Specialist Podiatry in community settings within the Trust including community clinics and hospitals, health centres, GP surgeries, residential homes, nursing homes and in the patient’s own home.
• Provide Highly Specialist Podiatry Services in acute hospital clinics across Birmingham as and when required.
• Actively take part in presentations, workshops and study days with the diabetes team.
• Promote strong links with other members of the multidisciplinary team including Consultants, GPs, PNs, DSNs and others.
• Undertake undergraduate clinical training regularly.
