Job summary

Referment is seeking a Systems Developer to work on high-performance research and trading infrastructure. The role covers large-scale compute, OS, tooling, networking and storage in a distributed environment, with workload scheduling, fleet management and low-latency tuning at its core.

You will build metrics, contribute to file-system design and collaborate with a global team supporting research and trading workloads. A physics/math/cs background or equivalent practical experience is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure orchestration and fleet management.
• Advanced Python proficiency for systems engineering, incl. high-concurrency frameworks and typing.
• Degree in Physics, Mathematics, CS or related field, or up to five years practical exp.
• Curiosity to investigate unfamiliar problems and learn quickly.
• Clear written and verbal communication, organisation and time-management.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve workload scheduling and fleet-management for large compute environments.
• Contribute to clustered file-system design, tooling and platform reliability.
• Investigate and tune kernel and network performance for latency-sensitive apps.
• Build metrics collection and analysis tools for infrastructure insights.
• Collaborate with a global engineering team supporting research and trading workloads.
