Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking a High-Needs SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Chelmsford. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex learning needs to help them access learning.

The role involves supporting pupils with SLD, PMLD and autism, assisting with communication, sensory activities and personal care where required, and helping students build independence and life skills.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or complex needs.
• Experience with autism, SLD, PMLD or high-needs settings desirable.
• A patient, compassionate and proactive approach.
• Confident supporting pupils with varying levels of need.
• A genuine passion for helping every child reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex learning needs.
• Support children with SLD, PMLD and autism.
• Assist with communication, sensory activities and personal care where required.
• Help pupils develop independence, confidence and life skills.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff to meet individual needs.
