Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND or complex needs.
• Ability to support pupils with personal care.
• Patient, compassionate and resilient approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with non-verbal learners.
• Strong safeguarding awareness.
• Reliable and committed to a long-term role.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex SEND.
• Supporting pupils with SLD, PMLD, autism and communication needs.
• Using alternative communication methods (PECS, symbols, visual aids or AAC).
• Supporting sensory and engagement-based learning activities.
• Helping pupils develop communication, independence and life skills.
• Providing personal care and mobility support where required.
• Managing behaviours calmly and positively.
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and other SEND professionals.
• Following individual EHCPs, behaviour plans and care plans.
