Job summary

Prospero Teaching is partnered with a specialist secondary school in Rochdale seeking a High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support students with complex needs within a SEND setting. The role focuses on delivering targeted assistance, preparing tailored learning activities, and promoting a calm, nurturing classroom environment.

The ideal candidate will hold Level 4 TA qualifications or equivalent, have prior SEND experience, and be committed to making a positive impact in a UK school

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a SEND setting.
• Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs is essential.
• Experience in a UK school setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Support students on a 1:1 or small group basis and meet individual needs.
• Assist with lesson planning and delivery, adapting materials as necessary.
• Contribute to tailored learning plans for students with SEND.
• Help manage behaviour and maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment.
• Work with the teaching team to ensure a holistic approach to each child's learning.
• Support students with physical and personal care tasks where appropriate.
