Job summary

GET Staff are seeking a Container Driver HGV Class 1 for day, night and weekend shifts in Southampton. The role involves operating HGV Class 1 articulated vehicles primarily for container transport, completing deliveries and pickups, and logging activity in real time via electronic devices.

Port environments and WTD compliance are emphasized. Applicants must hold a valid HGV1 (C&E) licence, a DP World Card, DCPC and a Tachograph card, with up to 6 penalty points and at least 1 year of container

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C&E) licence.
• DP World Card
• Driver CPC (DCPC)
• Digital Tachograph card
• Ability to use EPODs/smartphones
• No more than 6 penalty points
• Minimum 1 year container driving experience

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 lorries, for container transport.
• Complete deliveries and collections efficiently.
• Log collections and status updates on devices in real time.
• Follow site-specific procedures, especially in port environments.
• Adhere to Working Time Directive and drive hours logging.
• Observe health and safety rules and client policies.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
