Job summary

RH Recruiting Limited is seeking an HGV Workshop Controller to lead the day-to-day operations of a busy Manchester workshop. This off-the-tools management role centers on people leadership, workflow and workshop performance, while upholding safety and customer service standards.

You will manage up to 20 staff, coordinate activities, and drive improvements, with a focus on maintaining high-quality vehicle work and team development.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HGV Technician / Mechanic is essential.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills are required.
• Ability to manage a large team and oversee day-to-day workshop operations.
• Level 3 HGV qualification is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate up to 20 workshop staff.
• Coordinate daily workshop activities and allocate work efficiently.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained and repaired to high standards.
• Monitor workshop productivity, quality and performance.
• Enforce health & safety and company procedures.
• Support development and training of workshop staff.
• Liaise with other departments for efficient operations.
• Manage workload and priorities to meet requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership when needed.
• Drive continuous improvement across the workshop.
