Job summary

John Lewis & Partners is seeking a Vehicle Technician for our workshops to repair and maintain our fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring safety and roadworthiness to DVSA and Partnership standards. You will work with experienced technicians and have access to the tools you need to succeed and progress in your career.

The role offers full-time hours (37.5 per week) with overtime opportunities and a permanent contract, based at Fenny Lock.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds Level 3 Vehicle technician or equivalent qualifications
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence
• A proven background in transport commercial vehicle repairs
• Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness

Responsibilities

• You’ll be working on our large HGV lorries. It will be your job to ensure all vehicles are maintained to a safe and roadworthy standard to both DVSA and Partnership’s requirements.
• Ensuring that relevant sections of all inspections, services and defect sheets are completed in compliance with our ‘O’ Licence obligations and that all spare requests and time books are completed daily.
• You’ll be aware of best practices and current commercial vehicle repair techniques, to ensure high-quality repairs are carried out in a cost-effective manner and that the use of spare parts and consumables reflect the level of work carried out.
