Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking a Vehicle Technician for their workshop to repair and maintain the fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring roadworthiness to DVSA and Partnership standards.

You will work with experienced technicians, complete required inspections, and support apprentices within a collaborative, co-owned business environment. The role offers a 37.5-hour week with a two-week rotating night schedule and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds Level 3 Vehicle Technician qualification or equivalent.
• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Proven background in transport commercial vehicle repairs.
• Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness.

Responsibilities

• Repairing and maintaining our fleet of delivery vehicles to DVSA and Partnership standards.
• Complete inspections, services and defect sheets in compliance with our O Licence obligations.
• Work with experienced technicians and share knowledge to support apprentices.

Job description

As a Vehicle Technician in one of our workshops, you'll mostly be repairing and maintaining our fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring they are safe and roadworthy to both DVSA and Partnership standards. You'll be working with many experienced technicians and they will ensure you have all the tools you need to succeed and excel in your role. Giving you the opportunities to develop your knowledge and progress your career., You'll be working on our large HGV lorries. It will be your job to ensure all vehicles are maintained to a safe and roadworthy standard to both DVSA and Partnership's requirements. - Ensuring that relevant sections of all inspections, services and defect sheets are completed in compliance with our 'O' Licence obligations and that all spare requests and time books are completed daily. - You'll be aware of best practices and current commercial vehicle repair techniques, to ensure high-quality repairs are carried out in a cost-effective manner and that the use of spare parts and consumables reflect the level of work carried out.

Salary: The salary offered for this role is up to £55,000, depending on skills and experience, plus overtime is readily available., You'll be asked about any adjustments you might need to support the recruitment process. Let us know, and we'll be sure to discuss it with you.
