Job summary

Trinity Commercial is seeking an experienced HGV professional to train and assess drivers in a busy transport operation based in Redditch. The role covers inductions, practical assessments, classroom and vehicle-based training, plus refresher coaching and post-incident reviews.

You will identify development needs, provide objective feedback and maintain competency records, supporting continuous safety and compliance across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV driver with articulated vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of drivers' hours, tachographs and transport legislation.
• Coaching, instructing, supervising or assessing drivers.
• Desirable: recognised driver trainer/instructor or assessor qualification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver driver inductions and practical assessments.
• Conduct C and C+E assessments incl. reversing & coupling/uncoupling.
• Assess vehicle checks, safe operation and professional standards.
• Deliver classroom, practical and vehicle-based training.
• Provide accompanied drives, route familiarisation and ride-alongs.
• Post-incident reviews and follow-up coaching as needed.
• Report training activity, assessment results and risks to management.
