Job summary

Igloo Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Trailer Technician to join its large automotive repair business in Long Bennington. You will work in a well-equipped bodyshop, performing strip, refit and diagnostic work on LCVs and HGVs alongside a professional team.

The role requires hands-on experience with trucks and trailers, six-weekly inspections, MOT preparation, and a focus on quality work. A supportive environment offers training, progression, and generous benefits.

Qualifications

• Background in a bodyshop or commercial vehicle repair setting.
• Confident working on both LCV and HGV vehicles.
• Experience with six-weekly inspections, rectifications, and MOT preparation.
• Strip and refit work for HGVs and trailers.
• ATA accreditation (or working towards it) is advantageous.
• Problem-solving ability and a professional attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
• Professional, organised, and able to work effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out mechanical and maintenance work on trucks and trailers & LCVs.
• Performing routine truck and trailer servicing, including six-weekly inspections and rectifications.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections and completing any necessary rectifications prior to presentation.
• Conducting strip and refit work for replacement panels such as bumpers, doors, and other components.
• Performing mechanical, electrical, and trim repairs or replacements on HGVs and trailers.
• Using modern tools, equipment, and technology to deliver high-quality and consistent work.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional working environment.
• Supporting the workshop team to maintain organised and efficient workflow.
