HGV Trailer Technician

Location: Southampton

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with overtime opportunities available

Salary: £38,000 - £44,000 per annum

Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections, servicing, and repairs on trailers, ensuring safety and functionality.
• Complete compliance documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Diagnose and resolve issues using EBS systems like HALDEX, WABCO, and KNORR BREMSE.
• Participate in ongoing training, including IRTEC, tail lift, BPW, and SAF axle/brake training.
• Provide excellent customer service while adhering to deadlines.
• Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Uphold TIP values and behaviors.

Candidate Profile:

We seek passionate, skilled individuals who excel in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Requirements include:

• Experience with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles
• Industry qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQs
• HGV Class 1 driving license
• IRTEC accreditation
• EBS diagnostics experience (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO)
• Welding certification
• Experience with axle manufacturers (BPW, SAF, JOST)
• Tail lift training and experience
• Double deck or lifting deck maintenance experience
