Job summary

Veolia Solihull is seeking a skilled HGV/Trailer Technician to repair and maintain a fleet of heavy goods vehicles in our vehicle maintenance workshop. You will perform PPM and fault finding, inspections, hydraulic and electrical work, and attend off-site breakdowns.

You will work alongside other technicians, follow safety practices, with a 45-hour week and occasional Saturdays, plus benefits including 20 days' annual leave rising to 25, a pension, health resources and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in HGV Motor Mechanics is essential.
• Good awareness of safe working practices/Health & Safety.
• Desirable: IRTEK, HGV licence, Autoelectric, hydraulic qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain a fleet of HGVs and trailers in the workshop.
• Carry out PPM and fault finding on HGV/LGV units and trailers.
• Perform inspections (Moffat, pre-LOLER) and hydraulic/electrical works.
• Work on bespoke blower trailers and attend off-site breakdowns.
