Job summary

National Vehicle Distribution in Birtley, Tyne & Wear, UK, is seeking a full-time HGV Mechanic to service and repair vehicles, prepare them for MOT, and assist with apprenticeship training. A driving licence is required; NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is essential, along with HGV experience.

Mercedes/ Renault/ Scania experience and hydraulic system knowledge are a plus. Excellent communication and teamwork are expected.

Qualifications

• Must hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• HGV mechanical experience is a must.
• A Class one (C+E) licence would be preferable but not essential.
• Excellent communication and team working skills.
• Ability to use tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ideally have experience working on Mercedes, Renault & Scania.
• Ideally have experience working with hydraulic systems.
• Full driving license.

• Carry out general mechanical planned and corrective maintenance.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT.
• Carry out diagnostic fault identification and rectification repair.
