NY Highways is seeking an enthusiastic HGV Technician for a permanent, full-time role in Skipton. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet, the ideal candidate will have proven experience and relevant qualifications, ensuring high service standards for road maintenance in North Yorkshire.
Remuneration: £40,044 - £42,588 per year with occasional overtime available
Standby payments: £3,754 p.a. (hourly rate for call outs £23.64 -£25.47 per hour)
Contract: Permanent, Full time 40 hours per week
Hours: 7:30am – 4.00pm

NY Highways provides highways services across North Yorkshire and the surrounding areas. From road maintenance, street lighting and snow clearance to road signs and pavement repairs, we operate in close partnership with North Yorkshire Council. Now we are looking foran enthusiastic HGV Technician to join our team in Skipton.NY Highways helps to keep North Yorkshire moving and you will be playing a key role in this; helping service the repair of our fleet of 240 vehicles and equipment as well as the 96 North Yorkshire Council IPT buses and community mini buses we maintain.
From your previous work in a similar Technician role, you will help us to deliver the best service to North Yorkshire. We are looking for someone who has experience of working as an HGV Technician within the private or public sector or possibly for HM Forces. With no two days the same, you will work both as part of a team but also use your own initiative to carry out various aspects of vehicle maintenance, MOT preparation, fabrication, brake testing and scheduled servicing, all done using the latest technology.
For this role you will have:
· Class C HGV driving license
· City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC in HGV vehicle maintenance
· A knowledge of diagnostics across different brands and the use of diagnostic equipment
· Ability to work unsupervised with the flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks
· Ability to communicate and work well with other colleagues

What we can offer you
We are pleased to offer a competitive starting salary from £32,863 per year, plus a market supplement of £3,000 p.a., a tool allowance of £427 p.a. and standby payments of £3,752 p.a.
