Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial vehicle maintenance and diagnostics.
• HGV Category C or C+E licence preferred.
• Ability to conduct PMI inspections and MOT preparation.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT in line with DVSA standards.

HGV Technician (NIGHTS)
Job Type:Full-time, Permanent
Shift Pattern:4 on / 4 off

£22ph to £25ph basic

Overview

A well-established fleet maintenance provider in Leicestershire is seeking an experiencedHGV Technicianto join their growing team. This role offers a structured 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, strong benefits package, and the opportunity to work on a mix of in-house and external commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs and trailers

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults

• Prepare vehicles for MOT in line with DVSA standards

• Respond to unplanned defects and driver-reported issues

• Conduct brake testing and minor body repairs

• Provide mobile repairs or servicing via company service van when required

• Accurately complete all associated paperwork (using Blue Crystal system)

• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Relevant qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2/3, IRTEC accreditation)

• Proven experience in commercial vehicle maintenance and diagnostics

• HGV Category C or C+E licence (preferred)

• Experience with double-deck trailers and tail lifts (desirable but not essential)

• Ability to conduct PMI inspections and MOT preparation

• Able to work independently and within a team environment

• Strong communication and organisational skills
