Do you have technical experience working within a busy arts or theatre venue?

Are you looking for casual work?

We have exciting opportunities for Casual Theatre Technicians to join us at the Core Theatre in Solihull. With a fast-paced work environment, plenty of opportunities to develop your skills, and the chance to help create unforgettable performances for our audiences, this is a great time to become part of our professional team. Hours will include evenings and weekends, but we can be flexible based on your personal commitments.

The Core Theatre is a vibrant multi-purpose arts venue in Solihull town centre. It features a 336-seat raked theatre, a gallery space, and a flexible studio, serving as a hub of creativity and entertainment.

As a Casual Core Theatre Technician, you will:

  1. Work as part of the Theatre Technical Team providing technical services for The Core.
  2. This includes setting up Sound, Lighting, and Video packages for touring shows.
  3. Operate sound and lighting for shows, including creative and design elements.
  4. Assist in setting up stages, Hemp Flying, and set building as needed.
  5. Ensure health & safety practices are followed.

We’re preparing to relaunch our busy schedule of events and need passionate technicians to bring it all to life! From live music and comedy to drama and dance, no two nights are the same. You’ll support a diverse range of performances, working with local groups and national touring companies who love the energy at The Core.

Our schedule also includes a popular Christmas pantomime and daytime classes, making this role as varied as it is rewarding. If you seek hands-on experience in a fast-paced, creative environment, we’d love to hear from you.

You should have previous technical experience in a theatrical or venue environment, be able to work independently, and communicate effectively. You must be able to work at heights and be available for evenings, weekends, and bank holidays due to the role's nature.
