Job summary

Petit Forestier Group in Warrington is seeking a skilled vehicle technician to inspect, service and repair commercial vehicles, ensuring high standards of maintenance and MOT readiness. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical knowledge with an understanding of refrigeration systems.

You will manage workloads, document work accurately, and communicate progress to the Foreman. Experience with preventative maintenance and a clean driving license (HGV preferred) are essential for this

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of mechanics & electrics.
• Full driving license (HGV entitlements preferred).
• Appropriate technical qualifications.
• Excellent understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements and procedures.
• Apprenticeship training as commercial fitter.
• Extensive experience as a mechanic in a commercial vehicle environment.
• City & Guilds levels 1 and 2 desirable.
• Excellent knowledge of transport refrigeration.
• Experience of training apprentices.
• Knowledge of Transportation and Logistics industry.
• Strong PC literacy.
• Understanding of vehicle maintenance.
• Refrigeration experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, servicing and repairs to vehicles.
• Ensure all service and inspection documentation is correctly completed.
• Manage workload and assign jobs to team members.
• Accurately complete job sheets and record time.
• Use workshop equipment correctly and safely.
• Contribute to preventative maintenance.
• Adhere to Health and Safety regulations at all times.
• Record use of parts and supply tools as specified.
• Complete work to a right-first-time standard.
• Prepare and submit vehicles for annual test (MOT) where applicable.
• Communicate progress and delays to Foreman/Manager clearly.
• Keep knowledge up to date with modern technologies relevant to the role.
• Maintain good housekeeping at all times.
• Perform any ad-hoc duties as required.
