This role involves performing routine servicing, inspections, and repairs on a range of vehicles, including Distribution Tractors and Ro-Ro Tractors. Job Title: HGV Mechanic
Location: Halifax
Hours: M-F 7.30am-4.00pm (38.75hrs)
Salary: £19.03 per hour
Overtime: Available and paid at £28.54 per hour
Benefits: Pension: 6% employer, 5% employee, 28 days holiday (including statutory), death in service 3x annual salary.
Overall purpose of the HGV Mechanic
Perform a variety of routine servicing, inspections (VOSA standards) and subsequent repairs to one or more types of Distribution Tractors, Ro-Ro Tractors ,sea port equipment and ground support equipment
Will be required to undertake thorough inspections of accident damaged machines and produce accurate reports to enable repair.
Based in a state of the art modern workshop
Responsibilities of the HGV Mechanic
• To accurately and quickly fault diagnose and undertake resultant repairs on a range of makes and models.
• Undertake vehicle servicing, repair and other related work.
• Complete all vehicle servicing and repair documentation correctly, in a timely manner and to a good standard.
HGV Mechanic experience required
• Be time served on HGV’s or hold NVQ / City and Guilds or equivalent qualification.
• Experience of undertaking fault diagnosis and repairs on trucks, trailers and specialist vehicles.
