Job summary

Dennis Eagle in Evercreech, BA4 6NA, is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to service, repair and maintain refuse collection vehicles and specialist equipment across the UK.

You'll perform diagnostics, planned servicing, MOT prep and various mechanical/electrical repairs, working in a workshop and at customer sites. A strong diagnostic skillset and reading wiring diagrams are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance.
• Experience maintaining and repairing HGVs, commercial vehicles, buses, coaches, plant or specialist vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of vehicle electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical information.
• Commitment to quality workmanship, safety and customer service.
• Able to work independently while collaborating with colleagues and customers.
• Good IT skills and workshop documentation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on HGV chassis, refuse collection vehicles and mounted equipment.
• Carry out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and complete quality checks.
• Complete mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, body and chassis repairs.
• Record completed work accurately using workshop and fleet management systems.
• Liaise professionally with customers and colleagues to ensure work is completed efficiently.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
• Continue developing your technical knowledge through product and technical training.
