Job summary

Dennis Eagle UK is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team in Evercreech. You will service, diagnose and repair refuse collection and specialist vehicles, both in our workshop and on customer sites, to keep fleets safe and operational.

The ideal candidate has NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds Level 3 in heavy vehicle maintenance, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to read wiring diagrams. We offer development opportunities and a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance.
• Experience maintaining and repairing HGVs, commercial vehicles, buses or specialist vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Good understanding of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical vehicle systems.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical information.
• Commitment to quality workmanship, safety and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and with colleagues/customers.
• Good IT skills and ability to complete workshop documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on HGVs and related vehicles in workshop and at customer sites.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained to high safety, quality and reliability standards.
• Diagnose and repair faults on chassis, refuse collection vehicles and mounted equipment.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and complete quality checks.
• Record completed work accurately using workshop and fleet management systems.
• Liaise professionally with customers and colleagues to ensure timely completion.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain housekeeping.
• Continue developing technical knowledge through training.
