Job summary

Dennis Eagle UK is seeking a proactive HGV Technician to service and repair refuse collection vehicles to the highest safety and quality standards. The role involves hands-on maintenance, fault diagnosis, and liaising with customers on-site to ensure satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance, strong diagnostic skills, and experience with electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance.
• Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing.
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills.
• Understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime.
• Experience with electric vehicles or HGV Class 2 licence is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment.
• Service vehicles to VOSA standards and prepare them for MOT inspections.
• Complete body and chassis repairs and ensure compliance with Department of Transport specifications.
• Maintain accurate records and enter job details into company systems.
• Liaise professionally with customers and work independently at customer sites.
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to company standards.
• Follow health and safety procedures and conduct risk assessments where required.
• Undertake training to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
