Job summary

Veolia in Amersham is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to repair and maintain the Veolia Fleet and third-party vehicles, ensuring compliance with manufacturer and industry standards. The role offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with overtime opportunities.

You'll diagnose using a range of equipment, handle hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems, and perform HGV MOT inspections. A valid HGV licence and IRTEC are required, with forklift experience preferred.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in HGV Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
• Ability to work under pressure and actively seek solutions to problems.
• Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks.
• Thorough Knowledge of current HGV MOT regulations and standards.
• Driving Licence.
• IRTEC Licence.
• Waste/RCV vehicle experience.
• Electrical/Hydraulic/Pneumatic experience.
• HGV Driving Licence (Vocational entitlement attracts an additional 50p per hour).
• Forklift licence (Counterbalance).

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain the Veolia Fleet, 3rd party vehicles and plant in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards.
• Run diagnostics on vehicles using a range of equipment.
• Hydraulic, electrics, pneumatics diagnostics and repairs.
• Other general work as required by the Workshop Management Team.
• Work within Health & Safety regulations and be responsible for your safety and those around you.
• Ensure that all necessary paperwork, and time sheets are completed accurately.
• Carry out HGV MOT inspections and preparations.
• Complete roadside repairs when necessary.
