Job summary

Perfect Placement is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our established team in Huncote, Leicestershire. The role requires extensive mechanical and electrical diagnostic experience and offers work across a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years' practical experience as an HGV and/or plant mechanic.
Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
Experience working on multi-brand vehicles.
Desirable welding, fabrication, hydraulic systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults on HGVs, trailers, and plant machinery.
Servicing and preventative maintenance, including six-weekly inspections.
Conducting MOT preparation and repairs.
Repairing telehandlers, loading shovels, excavators, and access platform cherry pickers.
Attending breakdowns and performing roadside diagnostics on a rota basis.
Maintaining accurate records of work, parts used, and time allocated.
Communicating effectively with colleagues and clients regarding repairs, parts, and timings.
