Job description

Help us make a difference as HGV Technician Apprentice at our Biffa workshop.

Due to continued growth, Biffa is looking for HGV technicians to join our expanding business. As an HGV Technician at Biffa Waste Services, you will be part of the team maintaining our fleet of modern waste collection LGV/HGV vehicles in our workshops.

The role will train you in providing maintenance and repairs for waste collection vehicles and equipment, including various makes, models, and types, from car-derived vans to artic units and trailers.

• Service and repair vehicle chassis and cabs to VOSA requirements, including MOT preparation and presentation.
• Maintain and repair waste handling equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose and rectify vehicle faults.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, both electronically and on paper.
• Support with H&S issues to uphold the OHSAS18001 standard.

Requirements

Here’s what we require:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• A valid driving license, Cat B.
