  • Develop individual skills, both technical, practical, and interpersonal.
  • Provide continuous and effective service within the department, fulfilling key tasks.
  • Maintain good housekeeping, working according to maintenance schedules and work practices.
  • Work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.
  • Establish the ability and confidence to lead a small team.
  • Complete all parts of the BPIF Print Technician apprenticeship course and the End Point Assessment.
  • Learn and extend technical skills and knowledge.
  • Collect and present evidence of assignments during training.
  • Maintain regular contact with trainers, assessors, and managers.
  • Ensure compliance with all systems, standards, and procedures.
  • Organize the workplace for high standards of housekeeping.
  • Perform specific tasks as directed, according to the learning program and targets.
  • Gain experience in all aspects of the print area, such as print press, web press, or cut and crease.
  • Arrange and supply all consumables needed for production to meet the plan.
  • Monitor production and manage waste materials.
  • Maintain flexibility to meet company objectives and targets.
  • Interact with team members, assist as required, and develop leadership skills.

Training
Training to be Provided

You will undertake professional development and training as part of a cohort of apprentices with the British Printing Industries Federation completing the Level 3 Print Technician apprenticeship. The apprenticeship lasts 36 months and covers core competencies, specialist knowledge, skills, and behaviors in your department. You will build a portfolio and keep a skills log.

You will meet with the BPIF tutor monthly for training and review, on-site in our training room.
