Job summary

Biffa is seeking an HGV Technician Apprentice to join our team near IG11 0TT. You will work alongside skilled technicians, gaining hands-on experience while pursuing a formal Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Level 3 Apprenticeship over a 3-year programme.

You will learn to service, maintain, and repair HGVs/LGVs, diagnose faults, and prepare vehicles for MOTs, using electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a safety‑conscious workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Problem-solving abilities and a positive attitude are essential.
• Cat B driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Learn to service, maintain, and repair HGVs and LGVs.
• Diagnose and fix vehicle faults under supervision.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections.
• Work with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Follow health and safety best practices in a professional workshop.
