Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services in Totton is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of over 100 vehicle types. The role offers a 40-hour week (Mon-Fri) with a £39,520 salary and a sign-on/retention bonus of £3,000.

Qualifications

• Experience performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy vehicles.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements in workshop environments.
• Desirable: LGV/HGV Level 3 licence or equivalent class C licence; IRTEC licence is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on Tractor units, Trailers and rigid Hookloader vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify faults within a well-equipped workshop.
• Ensure vehicle safety and compliance before and after service.
• Liaise with Workshop manager to obtain correct parts.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
• Complete job cards and service sheets promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the workshop.
• Maintain current product knowledge and attend training courses.
