Job summary

Rocket Staffing Group Ltd is recruiting an experienced HGV Technician for the Liverpool area. Duties include repairing heavy goods vehicles and trailers, performing inspections, and delivering on-road repair services.

Works are on a 4-on/4-off dayshift pattern with 6am–6pm hours and 48-hour weeks. Applicants should hold a Level 3 Diploma or NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle mechanics, have workshop experience, and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics.
• Previous workshop experience preferred.
• Valid UK driving licence; HGV Class 1 or 2 desirable.
• Knowledge of DVSA inspection standards and VOSA procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles and trailers.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance like tyre rotations and oil changes.
• Maintain workshop inventory and keep the area clean.
• Collaborate with repair teams to diagnose and plan repairs.
• Keep detailed records of repairs and vehicle history.
• Provide on-road repair services to clients during emergencies.

About the Job

• Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles in the company fleet.
• Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services such as tyre rotation and oil changes
• Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust. It is not just limited to workshop.
• Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles
• Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled
• Providing repair services to clients on the road in case of emergencies.

Requirement

• Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
• Previous workshop experience preffered
• Valid UK driving licence; an HGV Class 1 or 2 licence is highly desirable
• Knowledge of DVSA inspection standards and VOSA procedures
