Job summary

Rocket Staffing Group Ltd are recruiting an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy Liverpool team. The role offers 4 on 4 off days with a 48-hour week and overtime opportunities.

Responsibilities include major/minor repairs on heavy vehicles, regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and maintaining workshop inventory. On-road repair support and accurate record-keeping are also expected.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics.
• Valid UK driving licence; HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable.
• Knowledge of DVSA inspection standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers and fleet.
• Carry out regular inspections and preventive maintenance tasks such as tyre rotation and oil changes.
• Maintain workshop inventory and keep area clean from oil spills and dust.
• Collaborate with repair teams to diagnose and plan vehicle repairs.
• Maintain records of vehicles repaired or serviced and provide on-road help when needed.

Location: Liverpool Cheshire

Salary: 51k to 55k basic

Shifts 4 on 4 off dayshifts

Overtime: time and a half

Shift Timings: 6am to 6pm .Days

Contracted Hours: 48 hours per week

About the Job

• Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles in the company fleet.
• Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services such as tyre rotation and oil changes
• Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust. It is not just limited to workshop.
• Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles
• Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled
• Providing repair services to clients on the road in case of emergencies.

Requirement

• Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
• Previous workshop experience preffered
• Valid UK driving licence; an HGV Class 1 or 2 licence is highly desirable
• Knowledge of DVSA inspection standards and VOSA procedures
